We ventured into the field of creating volumetric videos with the use of depth sensor data. Our partner: one of the main YouTube channels generating content for new bands in Latin America.
Kinect was used as a depth sensor, and we added a DSLR camera to film. This help us to capture the movement and be able to transfer the experience to a full 3D. For data processing, we used DepthKit, allowing us to play with the editing of these sources and to publish complete experiences.
Our partner EPICENTROarte gaves us access to prototype this technique while filming their music videos, allowing us to show something different and unusual to what we are used in this kind of content.
With the help of the RGBtoolkit tool, several characteristics of the video such as Texture and alpha are also modified, allowing us to better couple the photographic work and the 3D animation experience.
